Lucinda Brown, Venue Business Manager, Islington Assembly Hall, UK

Mobile ticketing to tackle touts and improving the fan experience

Lucinda has worked in live music for the past 20 years. Starting as Venue Manager at Newcastle University Students Union then moving on to Birmingham Academy, Islington Academy and more recently The Forum, Kentish Town. In between venue management roles, Lucinda was Group Marketing Manager for both the Academy Music Group and MAMA & Company. Her most recent position at MAMA was as Business Development Manager where she was responsible for managing the venue marketing team, venue promoters, supporting the Operations Director overseeing nine venues as well as managing partnered events.

 


Paul Williamson, Founder, Sports Ink Associates, UK

Paul has worked on ticketing projects for many major sports events, including Rugby World Cups, Cricket World Cups and Commonwealth Games. He was Director of Ticketing at London 2012, which sold 10.99 million tickets, valued at $1 billion. He now leads a consultancy, focusing on reducing ticketing risk and improving revenues at major events.

Laurence Miller is the Commercial Director for Nimax Theatres Ltd, the owners and operators of six West End theatres. Laurence oversees the programming, production, marketing and ticketing at Nimax.

Laurence has worked in the West End for just under twenty-five years, and prior to joining Nimax was CoO for Clear Channel Entertainment Theatrical.He is fascinated and interested in the use of new technology within West End theatres to improve distribution and increase sales for production.


Philip Shaw-Stewart, Co-Founder & COO, Citizen Ticket, UK

Philip is co-founder of Citizen Ticket an ethical tech startup that aims to eradicate the unethical ticketing practices that plague the events industry, including ticket touting, ticket counterfeiting and unfair secondary selling.

As an event organiser by trade and working in the industry for some 10 years, he and his Co-founder became increasingly aware of the unfair methods used when it came to the ticketing of high popularity events and set out to make a positive change in the industry. His team are now pioneering the Blockchain ticketing space with their ‘BitTicket’ delivery system.

Steve is a pioneer of the live entertainment & ticketing sectors and has held senior roles including time at Ticketmaster Europe and Artist Nation. Throughout his career he has connected cutting edge marketing and technology with access to global live entertainment industries.

Steve co-founded Accent Media in 2012 and successfully applied for the Top Level Domain “Tickets” with a vision to create an authentic and trusted domain-space for online ticketing. Steve speaks about technology and live entertainment at conferences worldwide such as the International Live Music Conference where he chairs the New Technology Committee. Steve has recently been focused on how blockchain technology will impact on live entertainment and has started work on an Open Tickets Foundation.
