TEG became our Ticketing Business of the Year at our Awards ceremony, and Cameron Hoy, chief operating officer and head of ticketing at the Australia-based firm flew across the world to share his thoughts on the industry.
He said: “Ticketing has changed more in the last three years than it has in the last 30 years. This is mostly thanks to technology and data.”
He noted that these aspects have allowed us, as an industry, to reimagine customer experiences, provide event discovery, integrate 3D seating maps and made transactions more seamless using NFC, RFID and biometrics.
Hoy continued: “We’ve come a long way, but still so much we can and must do. I’m proud to be part of an industry that’s claimed its space.”
Karen Chapple, director of Boost Agency – TEG, also traveled across the world to attend and share insights at TheTicketingBusiness Forum 2019. Now that’s commitment to the industry!!
She shared with us during our Getting (more) Personal: Using Data and Insights roundtable that the firm is looking to heavily invest in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning to use across the broader TEG organisation.
Chapple also discussed the importance of using technology to understand audiences better.
