#TBF22 Guest Spotlight: Burnley Football Club
In the countdown to #TBF22, we’re highlighting some of the VIP guests that will be joining us in Manchester for TheTicketingBusiness Forum in July. This time around, we spoke to Chris Parkinson, ticketing manager for Premier League football club, Burnley.
Parkinson took on a new role as the ticketing manager for Burnley FC in February, having spent over six years with Yorkshire County Cricket Club. He held multiple roles during his tenure with the cricket club, including customer operations executive, sales executive and ticket office manager.
TheTicketingBusiness: What’s exciting in ticketing and technology for Burnley or in general?
Chris Parkinson: “I think the technology around purchasing a seat has improved immensely over the past couple of years with things like new 3D virtual graphics offering a fantastic buying experience.
“At Burnley FC we’re looking at new, innovative ways to sell tickets and looking to broaden our ticketing landscape. This includes trying to modernise our ticketing offering and improve our current digital offering.”
TTB: What’s on the roadmap for the next 6-12 months?
CP: “We’re looking to develop our digital ticket offering as well as trying to make improvements to our site to improve the supporter’s experience.
“We’re looking to really engage with our supporters and see what they would like from a ticketing product and be a lot more open and transparent and try and build some products around our supporters needs.”
TTB: What are you looking forward to most about the Forum?
CP: “I’m really looking forward to hearing from others in the industry, and what they’re looking to do and their successes over the past 12 months.
“I find it worthwhile learning from others and also trying to pass on any knowledge I have gained from my time in the industry.”
