Speaker Preview: Sukhinder Singh Cassidy

The global ticketing marketplace has experienced rapid change in a short time. Both pushed – by technology innovation – and pulled – by rising customer expectations – our sector is playing ‘catch up’ with the wider world of e-commerce. StubHub reinvented the ticket resale marketplace when it appeared in 2000.

The company’s industry firsts include the introduction of the first ticketing app, the first interactive seat mapping tool and the first live entertainment rewards program.

Two decades on, the eBay company remains the world’s largest ticket marketplace. Counting more than 130 properties – including MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, NCAA, Matchroom Boxing, Everton FC, Northampton Saints, Xolos de Tijuana, Sónar Festival, Latin American MC Residente, KPOP superstar XIA and Bilbao BBK Live – as business partners.

But the market is evolving. Rightsholders are increasingly bringing resale ‘in-house’, with government agencies and consumer groups pushing for more legal reforms to restrict resale. We ask: where next for the ticketing world’s innovator?

We are delighted to welcome to the 2019 Forum stage: Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, President, StubHub.
