Speaker Preview: Cameron Hoy, COO, Ticketek Entertainment Group

Who would have thought ticketing would become so cool? Not so long ago, ticketing peeps were hidden away in the dark recesses or behind customer service windows only to be seen at box office hours.

Now ticketing is front and centre of the digital transformation across entertainment, sports and leisure. We are officially in a really cool business!

Perhaps you don’t agree? Well let’s have our latest keynote convince you otherwise.

BEYOND TRANSACTIONS

Cameron Hoy, COO & Head of Ticketing of market leader Ticketek Entertainment Group (TEG) will set the scene – explaining how the role, expectations and capabilities of a ticketing business have changed more in the last three years than they have in the last 30. Consequently, there has never been a better time to work in ticketing.

“We are finally recognised as the cool guys. Ok, maybe not as cool as promoters, but cooler than we have ever been!” says Cameron. “We are the key technology partners who are re-imagining customer experiences and powering a host of operational, security and experiential innovation for venues, events and content owners.”

“We have an incredibly exciting five years in front of us. Ticketing businesses and teams must continue to evolve, to broaden our capabilities and skill sets to ensure we seize the moment. We are so much more than a transactional service and we now sit in the very centre of this ecosystem.”

Hear Cameron’s take on the future for ticketing businesses – exclusively at TheTicketingBusiness Forum 2019 on 9-10 April in Manchester, UK.

RESTRUCTURING FOR RAPID CHANGE

In January, TEG – Asia Pacific’s leading ticketing, live entertainment and data analytics company – announced a management restructure to meet what it described as “the challenges of a new era for TEG’s ticketing and technology operations”.

Under the changes, the ticketing, technology, Client Services, e-commerce, marketing and product innovation teams are unified into a single stream, reporting to Cameron Hoy, who has been appointed to the new role of Chief Operating Officer and Head of Ticketing for TEG. Prior to joining TEG, Hoy held senior executive roles in major Australian companies including News Ltd and Fairfax media groups.

TEG CEO Geoff Jones said the restructure would strengthen TEG’s core focus on innovative, agile, ticketing and technology solutions that deliver better experiences for fans and enhanced capabilities for our clients.

As such, Hoy was promoted from his previous position of Managing Director, Ticketek Australia, where he led a dedicated and passionate team during times of rapid change and innovation in ticketing and e-commerce over the past 11 years.

The newly created COO / Head of Ticketing role ensures Hoy remains deeply involved with Ticketek’s business operations. Hoy now also works closely with heads of TEG’s International businesses, particularly with TEG’s rapidly expanding Asian division.
