The Eden Park Trust is a charitable organisation that promotes, operates and develops New Zealand’s national stadium in Auckland.
Ahead of TheTicketingBusiness Forum 2025, which kicks off in the UK city of Manchester on April 28, we spoke to membership manager at Eden Park Trust Lian Tetley.
Tetley has worked at Eden Park for more than 30 years and it has become an integral part of her life. In her current role, she delivers sales across the stadium’s membership offerings, stages initiatives and activations for member benefits, and more.
Here she discusses the challenge of attracting new members and delivering the best in customer service.
What projects are you currently focused on?
Lian Tetley: “The proposed amalgamation of our two corporate memberships which will involve the relocation of over 1,500 members.
“We are also investigating a new membership offering designed to attract individuals that are not necessarily the traditional patron.
“This will involve designing spaces where a range of activations are employed, more diverse food and beverage offerings, and flexibility with furniture set up, for example.”
What are your aims for 2025?
LT: “To develop new membership offerings with a view to implementing in 2026.”
What’s the next challenge for you and your team?
LT: “Increasing the membership base as there are currently a range of obstacles such as cost and success of teams. We are increasingly reliant on traditional sporting fixtures and we need to expand our content across the range of sporting and entertainment events.”
What is the most exciting development in the industry for you right now?
LT: “The wide range of technical opportunities that can be used to upgrade, purchase merchandise, book dining, request additional tickets and so on, without compromising the customer service element of our organisation.”
